Jonh Sanchez joins Secure Talent
Secure Talent Names New Executive VP to Lead Contingent Payroll and 1099 Compliance Services
SAN FRANCISCO, March 9, 2011— One of the country’s leading independent contractor compliance, third party payroll provider, and employer-of-record firms has named a successful Bay Area attorney entrepreneur as its new Executive Vice President.
Secure Talent has named John Sanchez to be the senior director at the firm’s Bay Area headquarters. Sanchez comes to the firm at a time of significantly renewed business interest in the classification of 1099 independent contractors.
“We are thrilled to have John on our team,” said Adam Svet, a Principal at Secure Talent. “John has a proven track record of leadership and success, and he understands the need for the services we provide.”
Secure Talent provides clients with independent contractor assessment, classification, compliance, third party payroll, and employer-of-record services.
With increasing IRS and EDD 1099 compliance audits, the firm’s primary focus is to serve companies looking to mitigate the risks associated with workforce misclassification. These risks are projected to increase given recently enacted congressional legislation that will enforce new regulations in 2012. At the same time, government agencies are stepping up 1099 enforcement, hoping to raise more than $7 billion in revenue over the next decade.
In this changing environment, Sanchez will manage Secure Talent’s long-term strategic marketing, growth initiatives, and oversee day-to-day sales and business operations. Sanchez brings a client-side perspective on the importance of compliant contractor classification to Secure Talent and its client companies. Prior to joining Secure Talent, Sanchez was Founder, Chairman, and CEO of a prominent legal discovery staffing business. Under his leadership, the company experienced multiple years of triple-digit growth. Prior to starting his own firm, Sanchez worked as attorney both in-house and in private practice.
In addition to his new role with Secure Talent, Sanchez is an advisor and board member at several privately held companies. He also serves as a guest lecturer at USC’s Marshall School of Business for Entrepreneurial Studies.
Sanchez holds a B.A. from UCLA and a J.D. from UC Hastings College of the Law. He is a member of the State Bar of California.
